Understanding Navigation on Courses

Here, we have explained the navigation on the various courses that you join on our website.

Course Menu

The following image shows the top left of the screen as it will show when you log in to your courses. The various elements and their descriptions have been explained below.

1 - Every time you login to your course, you have to click this button to get started at the point where you left off earlier.

2 - The course contents can be accessed from the left menu by clicking on whichever lesson/content you want to access. All content will have an icon indicating the type of content contained in that lesson , viz. Video , PDF , Interactive Exercise , etc...

3 - This is where you can discuss/comment/ask doubts related to the course.

4 - Clicking on this will take you back to the page where all your enrolled courses have been listed.

Top and PDF Navigation

The following image is a top view of the course player on desktop. Please refer to the numbers on the image and follow the explanations of each element given below.

Top Navigation

1 - You can click this button to discuss/comment/ask doubts about the content that is currently being displayed in the course player.

2 - You may click these 'previous/next' buttons to move sequentially between the contents of the course.

- You may click on this 'three lined bar' to hide the menu and give you a wider view of the content if needed.

PDF Navigation

3 - PDF viewer only shows one page at a time. You can use these 'previous/next' buttons to move sequentially between the pages.

4 - If some part of PDF if not clearly visible, you may zoom using these buttons and then use the handle bars on right and bottom to scroll around the page.

5 - Use this button to see the PDF in full screen. Press 'Esc' button on your keyboard to return back to normal view.

6 - This window shows the number of pages in the PDF and you can type in the number of whichever page you want to navigate there.

8 - If you are allowed to download a PDF, this icon will appear, clicking on which you may download the same.

Discussions Forums

In all our courses , you can find two kinds of discussion forums:

1. Course Discussions: This is where you can discuss anything related to the course as a whole. This is located on top left in the menu of the course as shown in point 3 in the course menu shown above.

2. Unit Discussions: This is where you can discuss anything related to a specific lesson / unit of the course. These are located below the lesson on every page of the course and their structure is same as that of the course discussions but limited only to the specific lesson.

Here's a brief overview of the various features of the discussion forums:

Quite simply , if you have any doubt to ask or comment to make , you can just type away in the message box and click on the 'post' button. You can also format your content like bold , italics , etc using the mini editor given on top of the message box. Here is a list of other things that you can do as numbered in the image above : 

You can sort out the messages in various ways (1-5):

1. You can either see all the messages or the ones started by you by clicking on these buttons.

2. You can see all the messages where you have been tagged.

3. Use this sort out all the messages where you have commented.

4. You can also sort the discussions by various hashtags.

5. Using this you can look for discussions containing any particular keyword(s).

6. While messaging , you can also tag other members by typing in '@' and then some of the initials of the member's name which will show in a drop down menu for you to select from.

7. You can also add an image (like a scanned copy of your answers, etc) in the messages.

8. Here you can see any trending hashtags or search for one. You can also create a hashtag by using '#' in the message box.

9. Finally , you can comment on others' messages using the 'comment' button below every message.
